NAMI Virginia’s local affiliates play an active role providing support, education, and advocacy at the community level. They operate support groups to let people know they are not alone and to be there with information and support when needed. Our affiliates speak publicly to educate others about brain disorders and provide educational programs, free of cost, to youth and young adults, parents, individuals, and families affected by mental illness. They advocate for effective and timely services from their local service providers, and they offer hope to those experiencing the impact of mental illness.
