Introducing Maggie Seymour Phd, MA, RIC

Maggie Seymour, PhD, holds a BA in Political Science; MAs in Military History, Sociology, Journalism, Public Leadership, and Counseling; and a PhD in International Relations from Old Dominion University. Now a Resident in Counseling, she creates a safe and supportive space for individuals facing life transitions, overwhelming experiences, or recurring patterns that no longer serve them. She believes each client carries the capacity for healing within themselves and sees her role as a guide and collaborator in that process.

Drawing from CBT, EMDR, IFS, CPT, Solution-Focused approaches, and mindfulness, Maggie tailors therapy to the unique needs and strengths of each individual. Her philosophy centers on authentic connection, trust, and collaboration, setting the conditions where meaningful change and healing can unfold.

Before becoming a counselor, Maggie spent nearly two decades as a Marine and U.S. diplomat, experiences that shaped her deep appreciation for resilience, service, and the complexity of human challenges. Today, she brings both her broad professional perspective and her commitment to compassionate care into her clinical work.
